We in the surgical department at Prince Charles Hospital have a unique rapport with all of the surgical wards. We all work closely together to share our experiences, our skills and our beliefs. This has created a bond where staff feel supported and valued.
Applicants who are not UK or Republic of Ireland nationals will require sponsorship to obtain either a Health and Care Visa or a Skilled Worker Visa unless they already hold permission to work via another route. Ward 7 is an acute surgical ward with specialities such as colorectal, upper gastrointestinal, urology, trauma and maxillofacial surgery. The ward consists of 20 surgical ward beds and the trauma assessment unit. We look after a broad range of post operative patients from the age of 16 upwards. This will give you a great opportunity to widen your knowledge in managing post operative surgical patients. The trauma assessment unit has 4 trolleys which are often converted into beds depending on the individual patient. The TAU takes referrals from ED or the GP for a trauma assessment following initial assessment.
