An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, flexible and motivated Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker with an interest in patient care and radiology services to join our busy, friendly team. The post will be based in Prince Charles Hospital and the successful candidate will be expected to have a flexible approach in order to support other Radiology Departments across the organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a pivotal role in the patient pathway within Radiology, supporting clerical and clinical duties as required.
  • Respond to routine queries, provide encouragement, reassurance and care to patients undergoing intimate examinations, and effectively liaise with other disciplines to discuss patient preparation, appointment times and transport needs.
  • Assist trained and medical staff to provide safe care for patients within Radiology.
  • Support qualified staff in the numerous disciplines within Radiology using knowledge and skills developed in the role.
  • Contribute to service improvements and communication ensuring safe and timely patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Good standard of general education including numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Commitment to undertake training to NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care/Clinical Healthcare Support.
  • Interest in patient care and radiology services.
  • Flexible approach to support other radiology departments across the organisation.
  • Welsh language skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above are desirable but not essential.
