Our Internship Programme is an excellent opportunity for you to gain hands‑on experience of the working environment and to learn more about the culture and business of Canary Wharf Group. The 6‑week programme involves working within one of our teams, alongside training and collaboration projects with your peers. Our internship will take place Monday 6th July to Friday 14th August. All interns will join on the same day, attend an internship induction, and begin building bonds as a cohort. Canary Wharf Group is an accredited Living Wage Employer, you will be paid approx. £555 per week (before NI and tax based on a 37.5 hour week).

Accounting & Finance

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience within a dynamic Financial Accounts team in the real estate sector. The role provides exposure to multiple finance functions—including Development, Retail, Office, Corporate, Tax, Group Finance, and Accounts Receivable—offering a broad understanding of how finance supports a complex property portfolio.

Main Responsibilities

  • Gain hands‑on exposure across multiple real estate sectors, including Development, Retail, Office, and Corporate, working alongside experienced finance professionals.
  • Rotate across different finance functions including Financial Accounts, Tax, Group Finance, and Accounts Receivable, building a broad understanding of how a real estate finance team operates.
  • Support the team during month‑end close, helping prepare reconciliations, journals, and financial schedules.
  • Work with real financial data to help analyse property performance and financial results across the portfolio.
  • Assist with the preparation of management reports and financial insights used by senior stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with teams across the business to investigate variances and resolve accounting queries.
  • Contribute to live projects and process improvements, helping the team find smarter and more efficient ways of working.
  • Support audit and compliance processes, gaining insight into how financial controls operate in a large real estate business.

Construction Management

As an Intern Construction Manager at CWCL you will assist in the planning, coordination, and supervision of the apartment fitout sequence. Providing valuable insights into construction processes and learning to use industry‑specific software and tools.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and supervision of construction works.
  • Support project managers in managing schedules and resources.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with Trade Contractors and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including reports and logs.
  • Participate in meetings and provide updates on project progress.
  • Assist in resolving any issues or challenges that arise during construction.

This scheme is for anyone studying a construction‑related degree. We also are open to applicants studying any degree subject.

Health & Safety

As a Health, Safety & Wellbeing Intern, you will work closely with the Occupational Health & Wellbeing Advisor to research, develop and deliver wellbeing content, events and campaigns. You will also play a key role in preparing our wellbeing strategy and programme roadmap for 2027, supporting data collection, planning, and engagement activities.

Main Responsibilities

  • Research and create engaging wellbeing talks, campaigns and events.
  • Support planning and design of the 2027 Health & Wellbeing Programme.
  • Assist with collecting, analysing and reporting health & wellbeing data and trends.
  • Work with internal teams to promote wellbeing initiatives across the estate.
  • Help develop digital content (presentations, posters, intranet materials, newsletters).
  • Support the OH&W Advisor with day‑to‑day wellbeing activities and administrative tasks.
  • Participate in meetings, sharing insight and tracking the progress of wellbeing projects.
  • Contribute to wider HSW team initiatives, supporting the creation of a safe and healthy environment.

This scheme is ideal for students studying: Health and wellbeing, Occupational health, Psychology or behavioural sciences, Public health, Safety or health‑related subjects (IOSH‑recognised degrees welcomed). We are also open to applicants from any degree discipline who have a strong interest in wellbeing, people‑focused work, and creating positive organisational culture.

Insurance

To provide insurance support services, under the direction of the Associate Director – Insurance, to CWG and other interested internal or external stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist with the efficient and effective claims management process for the reporting of new claims notifications to insurers and information collation on existing claims.
  • Help with progressing insurers’ risk improvements through engagement with building management and retail management teams as necessary.
  • Liaise with the wider CWG business to report on progress of outstanding insurer premium payments and other insurance accounting matters that may need attention.
  • Send new renewal documentation to applicable internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Review tenants’ contractors’ insurance documents in conjunction with internal requests and procedures for notifying new tenant fit‑out works and alterations.
  • Assess insurance implications on new contractual requests from Group Legal as necessary.
  • Participate in insurance meetings with internal colleagues and external insurance providers such as brokers, insurers, loss adjusters and reinstatement valuers.
  • Support with the 2027 Insurance Business Planning process.

This internship is ideal for students pursuing Accounting, Finance or Maths related degree, though we welcome applicants from all academic backgrounds who have an interest in Insurance or Risk Management.

Life Sciences

As a Life Science Intern, you will support the delivery of research, activities and communications that connect and support science and innovation stakeholders. You’ll gain hands‑on experience in data analysis, stakeholder engagement, content creation, and events delivery. You will be joining a dynamic team within the business who are driving the ambitious science and innovation vision for Canary Wharf.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct desk‑based research on science trends and targets to support projects.
  • Help maintain stakeholder records, schedule meetings, and prepare briefing materials.
  • Support the collection and reporting of engagement data and impact metrics.
  • Assist with communications such as newsletters, social media posts, and internal updates.
  • Support the planning and delivery of science and innovation events, including logistics, registrations, and feedback.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Science & Innovation team as required.

Residential Management

This internship offers hands‑on experience in property and tenancy management, service charge administration, legal compliance, and resident engagement. Interns will gain insight into multiple departments, including Leasing, and Property & Building Management, while working closely with our team to ensure the smooth running of residential estates.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist in monitoring property operations, including maintenance coordination, vendor management, and responding to resident inquiries.
  • Support tenancy management processes, including progressing new tenancies before move‑in and assisting with legal matters such as License to Alter and Licence to Assign applications.
  • Shadow Building Managers in their daily tasks, including conducting building checks, overseeing contractor works, and addressing snagging issues.
  • Support service charge administration, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Assist in preparing resident communications and researching process improvements to enhance property management efficiency.
  • Provide general administrative support across the residential property management portfolio as required.

Retail Operations

This is an excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate to gain hands‑on experience in the commercial property sector, specifically within retail operations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist the retail operations team with day‑to‑day tasks and projects.

Security – Intelligence

The Intelligence Team Intern will play an important role in supporting the security and resilience of the Canary Wharf Estate (to ensure it remains prepared, protected, resilient, and informed), and Canary Wharf Group (so that the Company is protected from, prepared for, and able to withstand incidents or events). The post‑holder will provide research and analytical support to the Intelligence Team and the broader Department.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the Intelligence Team in threat identification and analysis, including horizon‑scanning to identify threats to the Group, Estate, and tenants using open‑source research and contract services; monitoring and analysis of established threats to understand their changing nature and potential impact on Canary Wharf; developing and maintaining a broad understanding of a range of current affairs issues including, but not exclusively, terrorism (international & domestic), domestic issues with the potential to affect the operation of the Group and Estate, and other resilience risks; provision of threat information in reports and assessments as required.
  • Support the investigation, coordination, and reporting of security incidents to ensure that they are managed appropriately and, if necessary, disseminated to the relevant authorities for further investigation.
  • Support maintenance of security‑related databases to assist security personnel in identifying and assessing suspicious activity on the Estate.
  • Conduct intelligence research projects as required.
  • Comply with relevant data protection and ethics policies.

Security – Resilience

We are looking for a passionate and driven Resilience Intern to join Canary Wharf Group’s Resilience team, to support the resilience of both the Canary Wharf Estate (to ensure it remains secure, accessible and able to recover quickly from a disruption or incident), and Canary Wharf Group (in order that the Company is protected from, prepared for, and able to withstand incidents or events). The Resilience team holds responsibility for incident management, crisis management and business continuity.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist the Resilience Analysts with regular horizon scanning to develop awareness of potential impacts to the Estate and Group.
  • Assist the Senior Resilience Analyst with business continuity activities including conducting business impact analyses with Group departments and building continuity strategies.
  • Assist with analysing and interpreting data on critical suppliers, critical software and interdependencies.
  • Assist the Resilience Analysts with designing, implementing and organising exercises for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist the Resilience Analysts with delivering tests within the organisation, including of manual workarounds and systems.
  • Assist the Resilience Analyst with maintaining emergency supplies, recovery sites, organisational charts and other documentation.
  • Maintain awareness of media and social media posts to inform the Crisis Communications Plan.

Treasury

The Treasury Intern will perform Treasury Operations daily processes, transactions, controls, Internal & External counterparty setup, Know Your Customer, Bank Mandates, Regulatory reporting validations and settlements.

Main Responsibilities

  • Involved in the cash management of the Group, preparing and processing intercompany transfers, debt & derivative interest payments.
  • Ensuring all payments are processed successfully and following up with Banks if there are errors.
  • Design and implement Excel models to streamline payment processes, improve accuracy and enhance decision making.
  • Assist with the preparation of 13‑week cashflow forecast, collecting forecast data from internal stakeholders, updating the models underlying assumptions and producing variance analysis on actuals versus forecast data.
  • Assist with the maintenance of all Treasury systems and banking platforms.
  • Dealing with trouble‑shooting requests linked online banking platforms and other systems to ensure a smooth payments process.
  • Support Know Your Customer (KYC) requests and documentation requirements.
  • Develop comprehensive trackers for Bank Mandates, KYC and Bank Account Management.
  • Implement various report changes initiatives in terms of processing procedures.
  • Identify and generate ad‑hoc customs reports to aid in enhanced analysis of processes and procedures with the goal of streamlining efficiencies and enhanced services.
  • Administer the Treasury mailbox, ensuring timely responses to queries.
  • Maintain and update key points of contact with external and internal counterparties.
