Help Shape the UK’s Energy Future. Sub Agent Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C.

As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within the Marine and Tunnels Section.

What will you do?

The Civil Works Alliance (CWA) is delivering the critical civil works for the Sizewell C nuclear power plant project. Within the Marine and Tunnel (M&T) portion, we are seeking a sub-agent to join our Surface team in Suffolk. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a dynamic alliance of world-class contractors, working on one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure projects.

Reporting to the Surface Deputy Site Manager for the Marine and Tunnel Portion, the sub-agent will be part of the leading team for the delivery of all surface works prior to the start of tunnelling activities, including the site set-up for the different compounds, segment yards, auxiliary areas, but also the execution of the earthworks and civil works at the TMB launch shafts and associated assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Deputy Site Manager in the delivery of day-to-day site operations across surface civil works.
  • Monitor and coordinate construction progress, ensuring works are delivered to programme and quality requirements.
  • Construction of site set-up of compounds, offices, auxiliary areas, and civil assets, in accordance with the Delivery Programme.

What are we looking for?

Knowledge & Skills

Essential

  • Proven experience in construction site and civil engineering, preferably in large infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of site processes, RAMS, and quality control (ITPs) in the civil engineering environment.
  • Experience in coordinating teams of supervisors and workforce.
  • Solid organisational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of UK HSE legislation, site safety, and quality systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and proactively within a multidisciplinary alliance structure.

Desirable

  • Proven track record in delivery of large-scale civil works projects, ideally including major infrastructure, heavy earthworks, or tunnelling enabling works.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. master’s in construction management or project management; SSSTS, SMSTS or equivalent certifications).
