Help Shape the UK’s Energy Future. Senior Quantity Surveyor Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C.

As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within the Enabling and Earthwork Section.

What will you do?

  • Has a good knowledge of and adheres to the Company’s GMCEs, BMS and other governance, including SZC systems, processes, and governance.
  • Orders information and systematically checks data.
  • Maximises digital opportunities.
  • Prepares Activity Schedules, Resource Schedules & analyses tender documents.
  • Critically appraises, estimates, and negotiates the above with 3rd parties.
  • Reviews complex contract programmes such as Time-Location.
  • Assists with the preparation of delay and disruption programmes.
  • Monitors subcontract activities, measures and responds appropriately.
  • Analyses the commercial progress and reports to senior project staff.
  • Manages commercial aspects with Customer and Stakeholders for their area of responsibility.
  • Undertakes constructability analyses using construction programmes.
  • Prepares procurement programme and helps develop the strategy.
  • Analyses rates & prices, agreement of variations and or compensation events as required.
  • Prepares, submits and negotiates claims when required.
  • Prepares Internal reports, commercial progress and financial reconciliation.
  • Maintains own Personal Development Plan.
  • Manages HR/People aspects for direct and indirect reports (PDRs etc).
  • Actively supports the development of others including professional mentoring.
  • Produces plans for team to achieve goals / aspirations.
  • Supports recruitment of lower grades.
