Help Shape the UK’s Energy Future Project Manager - Coatings Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within the Main Civil Works Section. What will you do? The successful candidate will lead the CWA Coatings workstream from strategy and scope definition through procurement, mobilisation and delivery. They will play a central role in establishing a clear, efficient and deliverable coatings solution before construction progresses, helping to reduce unnecessary scope, manage interfaces and secure value for the project Key responsibilities will include: Owning the coatings delivery strategy and producing the associated package execution plan. Defining and challenging the scope to ensure that each coated surface has a clear technical and operational requirement. Managing the critical interface between concrete finishes, surface preparation and coating requirements. Supporting the development of the Sizewell C technical coatings baseline across 21 building groups. Representing CWA Delivery within the Painting and Coating Working Group and relevant governance forums. Preparing the coatings and finishes scope for pricing, procurement and commercial approval. Leading the sourcing strategy, invitation to tender, tender evaluation, contract award and mobilisation of the coatings contractor. Maintaining cost, risk and opportunity registers, supported by robust commercial business cases. Working closely with the Completions team to plan efficient, room-by-room sequencing across more than 7,000 rooms. Managing interfaces with engineering, design, building teams and specialist contractors. Promoting a strong nuclear safety culture and ensuring work is delivered through approved RAMS, inspection and test plans, quality records and applicable coating standards. Providing clear performance reporting through weekly dashboards and monthly reports What are we looking for? The CWA is looking for an accomplished project management professional with specialist knowledge of protective coatings or painting packages on a major construction or infrastructure programme. The successful candidate will ideally bring: A degree, HNC or HND in engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience. Proven experience managing protective coatings or painting scopes within major construction or infrastructure. Working knowledge of surface preparation, concrete finishes and standards including EN ISO 12944, EN ISO 8501 and EN ISO 4624. Experience in scope definition, estimating and target-cost pricing. A working understanding of NEC4 contracts. Procurement experience covering sourcing strategy, invitation to tender and tender evaluation. Strong stakeholder management skills across client, engineering, design and contracting organisations. The ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings, RAMS and inspection and test plans. A full UK driving licence. The ability to meet Security Vetting requirements, ordinarily including UK residency for at least three of the past five years. Experience within nuclear or another highly regulated sector would be advantageous. FROSIO, ICorr or APM PMQ qualifications, as well as experience of room-based completions and handover, would also be welcomed. What we will offer you?
