Are you an experienced leader with a passion for large-scale civil engineering projects? CWA (Civil Works Alliance) is looking for a dynamic Plant Lead to play a pivotal role in the construction of Sizewell C, a 3.2-gigawatt power station set to generate low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and serve as a cornerstone of our clean energy future. Your Role: As the Plant Lead for the Earthworks section of work, you\’ll initially be based in London, transitioning to Suffolk as the project progresses. You\’ll oversee the plant and equipment for Earthworks, including TBM, jack-up barges, slurry treatment plants, and more. Your responsibilities will encompass: * Overseeing the mobilization of plant and equipment for enabling works, earthworks, foundations, and backfilling, including crawler cranes, dozers, ADTs, excavators, and aggregate mixing batching plants. * Setting up and managing the Earthworks Plant Department. * Coordinating with the CWA plant department to ensure adherence to processes, procedures, and strategies. * Implementing and monitoring health and safety standards across the department. * Handling transport planning and management for road, rail, and shipping logistics. * Forecasting, maintaining, and managing all plant and equipment used in construction. * Utilizing asset and maintenance management applications for reporting. * Optimizing the fleet of machines and developing cost management processes. * Leading external plant and equipment supply chain management. * Supporting staff and workforce forecasting within the earthworks scope. * Developing and maintaining facilities to repair and sustain heavy plant and equipment. * Advocating for sustainability best practices and innovative approaches. What We’re Looking For: Essential: * Experience in leading a plant team on large UK civil engineering projects. * Proficiency in handling heavy-duty machinery. * CSCS PQP Card and/or CSCS Black Managers Card. * SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safety. Desirable: * Experience in nuclear projects and managing large civil engineering projects. * Joint Ventures/Alliances experience. * Major UK construction experience and related training. * CILT(UK) Level 5 Diploma in Operations Management or Professional Diploma in Logistics and Transport.
