The CWA Plant Engineer supports the safe, compliant and efficient set up and operation of the Plant Department activities. The role focuses on developing and maintaining SSOW (Safe Systems of Work) including the writing of RAMS, co-ordinating with delivery teams, ensuring plant readiness and supporting the Plant Operations Manager in implementing the CWA Plant Department’s methodology and system of work.
The CWA Plant Engineer will act as a technical and operational support link from the Plant Operations Manager to Plant Department and wider delivery teams. Ensuring plant, equipment and workshops are mobilised, operated, maintained, and demobilised in accordance with project standards, statutory requirements, and SZC expectations. They will report to the CWA Plant Operations Manager.

- Knowledge of statutory inspection requirements (LOLER, PUWER, British Standards)

- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to interpret mechanical and civil technical drawings specifications and plant data
- Competent in using tools such as AutoCAD, Primavera and CMMS
- Nuclear/license condition experience
- Experience of managing similar systems in civil engineering projects
- Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
- Knowledge of lifting procedures and legislation in the UK

- Mechanical Engineering background (degree or equivalent experience)
- Experience in plant operations, maintenance, or engineering support roles
- Demonstrable experience in producing RAMS and technical documentation
- Experience working within Joint Ventures/Alliances
- UK major infrastructure or construction project experience
- Relevant safety or plant-related training (e.g. appointed persons)
