The CWA is recruiting a Package Manager to play a critical role in the off-site manufacture and delivery of complex fabricated components for the Sizewell C project. This role sits within the Transverse Manufacturing team and focuses on managing a Tier 1 supply chain partner responsible for nuclear-grade fabrication activities.
This is a high-impact opportunity to work on a once-in-a-generation infrastructure programme, ensuring right-first-time delivery and seamless integration from factory to site. The Package Manager will take ownership of the end-to-end management of a manufacturing package, ensuring components are designed, fabricated, inspected, documented and delivered in line with strict nuclear quality and programme requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as the day-to-day engineering interface with the Tier 1 sub-contractor
- Managing off-site fabrication of complex steel components, modular assemblies and embedded parts
- Ensuring early and accurate interpretation of engineering design releases and interface requirements
- Coordinating engineering, design, manufacturing and construction teams to avoid rework and late changes
- Supporting the transition from manufacturing through to on-site installation and integration
- Championing safety, quality and right-first-time delivery across the supply chain
What are we looking for?
The successful candidate will be accountable for technical oversight, supplier performance and delivery assurance within a highly regulated environment.
This includes:
- Leading technical coordination across engineering, manufacturing and construction disciplines
- Reviewing and approving manufacturing drawings, specifications and technical documentation
- Managing RFIs, FCRs, NCRs and maintaining configuration control in line with SZC governance
- Ensuring compliance with nuclear-grade quality requirements, including welding, NDT and material traceability
- Identifying and mitigating risks across the manufacturing lifecycle
- Supporting and guiding junior engineers within the team
- Building strong, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and Tier 1 suppliers
Candidates will typically bring:
- A degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent)
- Significant experience in off-site fabrication of complex components within large infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of nuclear or similarly regulated environments
- Proven supplier and stakeholder management capability
- Clear communication skills and sound technical judgement
- Eligibility for UK security vetting (normally requiring UK residency for at least three of the past five years)
