As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years.
This role will be within the Logistics & Services Section.
What will you do?
The scope of the Plant and Logistic function is the integrated support of CWA portions. This includes but is not limited to the planning, design, execution and seamless integration, including the management, of concrete batching plants, storage buildings, warehouse, material conveyors, laboratory and office buildings, workshops, stores and reinforcement cut & bend and prefabrication facilities. Once constructed and operational, these infrastructures will underpin the delivery of the civil works at SZC.
The position advertised is for a Project Manager who will be responsible for managing one or more NEC contracts covering the design, engineering, supply, and delivery of works for the concrete batching plants and associated offices, laboratories, and ancillary units. As the works progress and this contract reaches completion, the Project Manager will be assigned to manage new Contracts within the same or another CWA team, supporting the ongoing delivery phase of the project.
The role involves contract management, coordination between multiple CWA subcontractors, internal project resources, and the Principal Contractor/Client team to ensure works are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with SZC’s environmental, quality, and safety standards. This position is suited to an individual with proven experience managing multiple stakeholders on large-scale, complex civil works projects, who can confidently oversee civil engineering activities and has relevant experience in building fit-out works, mechanical and electrical engineering, IT & T systems.
What are we looking for?
Knowledge & Skills
- Experience in managing projects in construction engineering on complex large infrastructure.
- Experience in projects and programmes of works working for leading international tier 1 contractors.
- Proven experience managing NEC3 / NEC4 ECC and PSC contracts, cost and EVM systems e.g., CEMAR.
- Well versed in civil works as well as in mechanical and electrical works.
- Clear understanding of CDM2015 Regulations, PC and Contractor duties.
- Deadline-focussed outputs.
- Interpersonal, communications and facilitation skills.
- Coaching and training skills.
- Able to take decisions in autonomy.
- Express and maintain a best for project approach.
- Ability to manage large numbers of stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in relevant discipline (Civil Engineering, Project Management, Mechanical Engineering) and relevant project management and site experience within the construction industry.
- CSCS card.
- Desirable
- Member of a professional body such as APM, PMI or similar.
- Temporary Works Coordinator experience.
- SMSTS qualification.
- Previous experience constructing any among concrete batching plants, material handling conveyors, modular accommodations.
