Temporary Works Coordinator Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C. As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2 gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within the Enabling and Earthwork Section.

What will you do? The purpose of the role is: This role sits within the Civil Works Alliance and reports to the Temporary Works Manager, Construction Engineering Lead, Delivery Director’s and Project Managers in the delivery of the Sizewell C. The Civil Works Alliance Temporary Works team has overall responsibility for programme and project temporary works.

  • Qualifications & Experience
  • Essential
    • Experience relevant to the type and complexity of the Temporary Works on the project that they will be involved, and length of experience on similar projects.
    • For this role, offshore experience is critical, with specific knowledge of lifting key.
    • Attended either a Balfour Beatty, or approved external company delivered, TWC training course, or TWC Update/Refresher training course.
    • Received a briefing from the Balfour Beatty DI, or a competent and experienced individual, on the role and delegated responsibilities, as approved by the DI, including an update on the BMS Temporary Works procedures at periods not exceeding 2 years.
    • If being nominated for first appointment - Must have attended a Balfour Beatty TWC training course within the last 2 years or be able to demonstrate recent relevant training, knowledge and experience for this role with another organisation.
    • If being nominated for re-appointment - Must have undertaken the role of TWC within the last 2 years. If this requirement is not satisfied the nominated person must attend the next available TWC training course, and receive an update on the BMS Temporary Works procedures.
    • They must also have attended an Update/Refresher training within a period not exceeding 5 years after completing the TWC course, and at periods not exceeding 5 years thereafter.
  • Desirable
    • It is desirable, although not essential, to have formal qualifications e.g. HNC, Degree.
