Help Shape the UK’s Energy Future. As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within the CWA Wide Section.
What will you do?
The IT Project Manager (PM) role sits within the Alliance IT and Digital Team, reporting to the Alliance IT Programme Manager, and will support all partners in the Alliance with their IT needs. A key principle of the Alliance IT Team is to ensure partners can work with proven technology. The role will therefore support both the Alliance in validating the right technology, and the partners in deploying the approved technology.
The role encompasses traditional project management application delivery techniques, managing implementation of applications for initiation to handover/closeout. Alliance delivery of the works is done in portions and the PM workload will be aligned to this, as well as the Partner IT delivery teams, and to help ensure engagement in work packages and progress to plan across all partners.
Principal Accountabilities, Activities and Decisions
- Will work across a range of IT and business engagements, within the Alliance IT Team and partner IT Teams.
- Prepare both internal/external reports and liaise with stakeholders.
- Initiates good scope/information/configuration management principles.
- Ensure reports provide relevant information which enable decisions to be made which are informed, cost effective and in line with overall strategy.
- Produce plans for the team to achieve goals.
- Log and escalate any issues that cannot be resolved at delegated level of authority.
- Accountable for KPI’s in line with project objectives and monitor performance.
- Ensure team adopt productivity and project controls techniques.
- Incorporate and balance both operational and commercial constraints into decision making.
- Advocate consistency and reliability of digital data to support successful project delivery – data driven decisions.
