Help shape the UK’s energy future. Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), supporting Sizewell C. As part of the CWA, you will support the building of Sizewell C, a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and playing a key role in our energy future.
This role will be within the Main Civil Works Section.
What will you do?
The CWA is seeking an experienced Senior Planner to take a lead role in shaping the successful delivery of the Nuclear Island structures within the Main Civil Works programme for Sizewell C. The Senior Planner will work closely with the Senior Planning Manager for the Nuclear Island and the wider MCW team, developing and managing project programmes for a range of complex reinforced concrete buildings and structures. The role will support the coordination of construction sequencing, planning methodologies and resource strategies for some of the most technically demanding elements of the power station.
The Senior Planner will work collaboratively across engineering, design, commercial, construction and supply chain partners, ensuring progress is accurately monitored, risks are identified and performance insights are shared to drive best-for-project outcomes.
What are we looking for?
The CWA is looking for a highly skilled planning professional with strong civil engineering experience who can lead programme development across major infrastructure works. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing, updating and maintaining detailed Nuclear Island programmes, including short-term planning and long-range project schedules
- Establishing logical sequencing and construction methodologies that support the most beneficial delivery strategy
- Analysing performance, identifying impacts and recommending solutions to enhance programme delivery
- Defining resource requirements and supporting multidisciplinary teams on all time-related matters
- Liaising with site teams and supply chain partners to validate progress, identify issues and maintain programme integrity
- Recording and reporting on labour and resource efficiency
- Leading internal and external reporting across planning deliverables
- Highlighting trends, risks and opportunities for improvement
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency in Primavera P6
- Degree or recognised qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field
- Strong experience developing and managing construction programmes within major civil engineering projects
- Experience planning reinforced concrete works
Desirable: CIOB/MICE membership and experience in 4D/Synchro modelling.
