Help Shape the UK’s Energy Future Construction Manager - PTS Bunker Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within the Main Civil Works Section. What will you do? The CWA is recruiting a Construction Manager to lead the self-delivered site works for the Pools, Tanks and Sumps programme at Sizewell C in Suffolk. This is a key site leadership position responsible for modular stainless-steel panel assembly and pool construction on the K10 platform. The successful candidate will make sure that work is completed safely, right first time and in line with programme requirements,. CWA will directly manage the welding and fabrication workforce. This gives the Construction Manager significant ownership of delivery, workforce performance, safety, quality and productivity Planning and managing daily bunker site activities through the PLOD, PLOW and ten-day look-ahead. Leading Section Engineers, Site Engineers, trade supervision and welding and plating teams across day and night shifts. Delivering the works against the Level 3 programme and managing labour, plant, materials and productivity. Coordinating logistics, craneage, heavy-lifting activities and the receipt, storage and handling of panels and assemblies. Managing interfaces with building teams, temporary works and site logistics. Leading Control of Work arrangements, including RAMS, task briefings, permits, lift plans, hot works, confined spaces and radiography exclusion zones. Driving a strong safety culture through inspections, visible leadership and incident investigation. Maintaining approved Inspection and Test Plans, stainless-steel cleanliness controls, Lifetime Quality Records and the timely close-out of non-conformances. Tracking resources against budget, producing weekly measures and recording change as it occurs. Supporting the planning, methodology and resource build-up required for Steps 3 and 4. Demonstrating and promoting a strong Nuclear Safety Culture throughout the works What are we looking for? CWA is looking for an experienced construction professional who can provide clear, practical leadership within a complex and highly controlled engineering environment. The successful candidate will bring: At least ten years’ post-apprenticeship or equivalent experience within nuclear, petrochemical, oil and gas or a comparable construction trade. Previous experience as an onshore Construction Manager leading a multidisciplinary workforce. A strong track record in complex mechanical or structural fabrication works within nuclear, heavy industrial, oil and gas or petrochemical environments. Experience managing a directly employed welding and fabrication workforce. Strong knowledge of Control of Work and lifting operations. The ability to interpret technical drawings, RAMS and Inspection and Test Plans. An HNC, HND or degree in engineering, or equivalent relevant experience. Current SMSTS and manager-level CSCS credentials. Knowledge of work-completion processes and electronic work-management systems such as Asite, Field View or Teamcenter. The ability to meet Security Vetting requirements, ordinarily including UK residency for at least three of the previous five years. What we will offer you?
