Senior Land Surveyor Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C. As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within the Marine and Tunnels Section.

What will you do?

  • Support the survey manager in the delivery of all survey requirements for the project.
  • Assist the survey manager in the development of all members of the project survey team.
  • Implement a standardised approach to the capture of all survey data and creation of deliverables across the project.
  • This role will involve different survey processes as required to support the site teams.
  • Tasks will vary but will include engineering control, topographic survey, engineering surveying and setting out.
  • Provide supervision and office support for the survey teams.
  • Provide the site team with construction information, assist in QA/QC, and support H&S (Health & Safety) and sustainability initiatives within the survey department.
  • Create site safety briefings to survey team members including the preparation of WPP (Work Package Plan), RA (Risk Assessment), and TBS (Task Briefing Sheets).
  • Ensure the survey team adhere to the latest BMS procedures.

What are we looking for?

  • Extensive knowledge of survey specific software and processing applications including Autodesk Civil 3D.
  • Proficient in IT (Information Technology) applications.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with the wider project team.
  • Experience in settlement monitoring systems, methods, and technologies.
  • Experience in geodetic requirements associated with project requirements.
  • Experience using the latest survey equipment, software, and technologies.
  • Hold a full driving licence.
  • Experience in establishing GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) networks.
  • An elevated level of understanding and experience in design, construction, and surveying within a construction environment.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in organising and managing site survey teams.
  • Knowledge of and checking design deliverables in various digital formats.
  • Appreciation of setting up and maintaining machine control systems.
  • Creating and maintaining survey models for setting out machine control.
  • Knowledge, experience and skill of implementing up to date survey data reality capture methods.
  • Knowledge and experience of setting up local base networks and establishing connected site environments.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Hold a valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
  • Relevant degree, diploma, or equivalent industry recognised qualification.
  • Member of the CinstCES or RinstCS.
