Help Shape the UKs Energy Future Temporary Works Coordinator Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C.
Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years.
This role will be within the Enabling and Earthwork Section.
What will you do?
This role sits within the Civil Works Alliance and reports to the Temporary Works Manager, Construction Engineering Lead, Delivery Directors and Project Managers in the delivery of Sizewell C.
The Temporary Works team has overall responsibility for ensuring programme and project temporary works are designed and delivered on time.
Key responsibilities: Coordinate with all parties involved in the design and construction of temporary works.
Liaise with client team to determine if schemes may affect the public, nuclear safety, or impact other works.
Ascertain approval process and certification required.
Ensure that all requisite procedures are understood and followed throughout the process.
Compile and update the Temporary Works Schedule and periodically review the schedule with the Temporary Works Designer and Project Lead.
Prepare/review the design brief for adequacy/completeness, ensuring all relevant codes and standards are detailed; specifically those for offshore working.
Ensure that the duration for temporary works designs, checking and construction, are realistically timed in the construction programme.
Ensure that the completed designs are obtained within the required deadline.
Ensure that construction is only carried out from drawings issued for construction.
Ensure that the construction method statement incorporates the requirements of both the permanent and temporary works designs e. g. loads on foundations/permanent works, structural integrity, stability and hold points, etc.
Check preparations for temporary work structures (e. g. sea fastenings) and allow loading to proceed.
Carry out inspections of temporary works prior to loading and unloading of structures.
Draw up and agree with site team a list of hold points for certain operations for which inspection is required prior to work progressing further.
Ensure that erected temporary works are maintained.
