The predicted salary is between 40000 - 50000 Β£ per year.

Help shape the UK's energy future. Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), supporting Sizewell C. As part of the CWA, you will support the building of Sizewell C, a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and playing a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years.

This role will be within the Enabling and Earthwork Section.

What will you do?

  • The scope of the Enabling Works and Earthwork includes planning, procurement, and execution of early SZC civils scope at the TCA and MCA, including pavement, reinforced concrete, earthworks, and general infrastructure work.

Principal Accountabilities, Activities and Decisions

  • Health Safety & Environmental: Production of Task Briefing Sheets and Method Statements; contribution to production of Permits, including briefing to the workforce; carrying out associated briefings; conducting Safety Inspections in line with role requirements; hazard identification and contribution to development of SSoW.
  • Engineering Control: Providing accurate setting out and establishing primary control when needed; provision of sketches detailing the setting out information installed; maintaining survey equipment including registers of equipment and testing regimes; ability to read and determine information from drawings, schedules, and specifications.
  • Quality: Production of as-built drawings & records for every element of the works involved; completion of Quality Check Sheets and production of information for Handover Documentation; maintaining accurate records including Daily Diary, photographs, and records of site discussions.
  • Productivity: Measures actual materials used and reconciles with theoretical measure; works to Weekly Programme drafted by others and marks up progress achieved weekly; contributes to collection of data for Key Performance Indicators, including reasons for differences; highlights issues affecting safe production onsite and provides solutions to workforce and reporting line manager.

What are we looking for?

  • Knowledge & Skills Essential: Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work; ability to work across conflicting interest groups to develop solutions to complex operational and commercial problems; knowledge of Project Management methodology; full UK Driving Licence; willing to work away from home.

Qualifications & Experience Essential:

  • HNC/HND/Degree in relevant discipline and/or relevant Site Experience with the Utilities / Construction Industry; CSCS card.

Work Pattern: Leiston, Suffolk. Full-time, permanent.
