Help shape the UK's energy future with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), supporting Sizewell C. As part of the CWA, you will support the building of Sizewell C, a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes.
What will you do?
- Enable the delivery of high-quality investigations, ensuring alignment with the Investigation Process.
- Provide expert guidance and oversight to operational teams and contractors.
- Assure the quality, robustness, and completion of investigation outputs.
- Participate in the investigation of health and safety incidents for the CWA.
- Provide expert advice on evidence collection, cause analysis, and preventative measures.
- Drive consistent application of the agreed process for investigations.
- Provide specialist advice and coaching to operational teams.
- Enable the delivery of training to upskill those leading and participating in investigations.
- Support the development and review of investigation procedures and processes.
- Monitor legislation and changes impacting our investigation processes.
- Review and assure the quality of investigation reports.
- Ensure all investigation actions are clearly defined, allocated, and tracked.
- Carry out ongoing assurance activities to confirm that investigation learnings are embedded.
- Facilitate sharing of investigation outcomes and best practices.
- Contribute to investigation governance processes.
- Support the implementation of the Nuclear Safety message during engagements.
What are we looking for?
- Proven ability to lead and support the delivery teams in high-quality investigation reports.
- Ability to complete investigations within high-risk, high-regulation sectors.
- Ability to liaise with regulatory authorities such as the HSE and ONR.
- Strong communicator at all levels, both verbally and written.
- Extensive knowledge of the UK Health & Safety Regulatory framework.
- Keen attention to detail and quality.
- Collaborative, reliable, proactive, and able to meet demanding deadlines.
- NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
- Specific investigation training such as TopSet or equivalent.
Desirable:
- Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health or working towards it.
- Experience of working in Major Infrastructure / Nuclear Sector.
