Senior Quantity Surveyor Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C. As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within the Logistics & Services Section.
What will you do?
- Has a good knowledge of and adheres to the Companys GMCEs, BMS and other governance.
- Orders information and systematically checks data.
- Maximises digital opportunities.
- Prepares Activity Schedules, Resource Schedules & analyses tender documents.
- Critically appraises, estimates, and negotiates the above with 3rd parties.
- Planning Reviews complex contract programmes such as Time-Location.
- Assists with the preparation of delay and disruption programmes.
- Monitors subcontract activities, measures and responds appropriately.
- Analyses the commercial progress and reports to senior project staff.
- Manages commercial aspects with Customer and Stakeholders for their area of responsibility.
- Undertakes constructability analyses using construction programmes.
- Prepares procurement programme and helps develop the strategy.
- Analyses rates & prices, agreement of variations and or compensation events as required.
- Undertakes customer and stakeholder management for their area of responsibility.
- Prepares, submits and negotiates claims when required.
- Prepares Internal reports, commercial progress and financial reconciliation.
- Maintains own Personal Development Plan.
- Manages HR/People aspects for direct and indirect reports (PDRs etc).
- Actively supports the development of others including professional mentoring.
- Produces plans for team to achieve goals / aspirations.
- Supports recruitment of lower grades.

- Experienced in the recruitment and development of talent within the business.
- Ability to provide feedback on team members strengths and weaknesses and support performance management.

Qualifications & Experience
- Essential: BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalent.
- Membership of RICS, ICES or CIOB (or working towards).
- Desirable: Communication, Teamwork/Role Model, Leadership, Achievement Focus (Achieving Results), Business and Customer Awareness.
- Proven track record in managing and leading large teams.
- Demonstrable experience of innovation, in all fields (Health and Safety, Operational Delivery etc).
- Experience in mentoring, and providing stretch and challenge for team members and ensuring clearly defined development plans are in place.
- Strong leadership and management skills, including completion of formal qualification (e.g., ILM).
- Wide ranging independent judgement evident.
- Has achieved professional accreditation and undertakes extra-curricular activities to advance the profession (e.g., RICS, CMI).
