Depot Manager in Preston

Job Purpose: To develop and maintain specialist Domestic and Commercial services business with major focus on Septic Tank Cleaning, Drainage Services and Industrial Services. This work will mainly include offering specialist Waste Management and Industrial Services advice to domestic, commercial and industrial customers throughout the UK. Key Accountabilities: Governance and Strategy * Lead H&S within allocated operations * Challenge visible practices which lead to risk for the business, and support practices which mitigate or eliminate it * Identify areas within allocated operations where direct governance – based actions are required for improvement * Ensure governance – based actions are closed within allocated times, personally and with direct reports / teams Company development * Account Manager for target clients / accounts, carry full P&L responsibility along with other targets such as SLA’s * Actively look for opportunities to represent the company externally and develop business * Develop plans for target clients / sectors in line with business plan * Identify most profitable existing business streams and products * Engage with marketing and sales personnel to maximise most profitable business streams * Publicise and represent company as needed (e.g. social media, events) Personal Leadership * Carry out personal H&S actions as first priority to protecting the business * Become known as a role model for others to follow * Provide clear communication on company goals, internally and externally * Make time to engage with teams on a regular basis * Listen carefully before acting on the basis of full information * Plan and prioritise strategic tasks, and delegate accordingly to maximise best use of time * Set out own personal targets on a SMART basis, and also for team members as needed * Hold team members accountable for performance, through regular dialogue and management PERSON SPECIFICATION Essential Professional Qualities * Relevant experience and knowledge of relevant sector industries. * Proven track record of growing and developing a Depot in the drainage industry. * Strong commercial acumen with ability to evaluate business opportunities. * Effective leadership, people management skills and ability to work effectively in teams. * Self-directed and ability to think and operate independently. * NEBOSH or IOSH Qualifications * Project management experience (desirable) * Educated to NVQ or BTEC level (desirable) Essential Personal Qualities * Demonstrate integrity, honesty and positivity in personal conduct, and towards others * Work well as part of a team and can help others to do the same, especially at Board level * Analytical mindset, using fact – based enquiry to determine basis of improvement * Can identify how to create improvement and implement it with teams or personally If a CW Executive Search consultant does not reach out within 2 weeks of your application you have unfortunately been unsuccessful
