As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of fire and security systems across a variety of sites. You will work closely with the Service Manager and support teams to ensure all systems remain compliant, reliable, and fully operational. This role requires solid technical knowledge, excellent fault‑finding skills, and a strong focus on customer service.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Service, maintain, and repair fire and security systems, including intruder alarms, fire alarms, access control, and CCTV.
- Carry out routine planned preventative maintenance (PPM) visits and emergency callouts.
- Join the on call rota for out of hours calls.
- Diagnose faults and undertake effective repairs in a timely manner.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant industry standards.
- Liaise with clients to provide technical advice and support.
- Complete service reports, job sheets, and system documentation accurately.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth communication.
Summary of Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience as a service or maintenance engineer with a minimum of 2 years within the fire & security industry.
- Strong knowledge of fire alarm and security systems (e.g., Honeywell, Pyronix, Hikvision, Paxton, Advanced, Kentec, Hyfire etc.).
- Excellent fault‑finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
- Relevant industry qualifications (FIA units, ECS/CSCS, IPAF, PASMA) are desirable.
