Job Purpose:
- To ensure the Waste Transfer Stations and package waste on treatment sites business meets its commercial targets in a safe, compliant, and responsible manner within the scope and influence of the role.
- To define, own, and deliver the Commercial Strategy for the WTS business, working in close coordination with the divisional sales teams.
- To develop and execute a commercial strategy to attract new business for our WTS network.
- Through collaboration with the wider sales team, expand the services we offer to current customers, focusing on attracting new package waste scopes.
- To compile, analyse, track, and report commercial performance data to support decision-making and the ongoing development of the UK WTS business and package waste activities across treatment sites.
Responsibilities:
- Define and implement the WTS and package waste strategy, attracting new business and ensuring consistent execution and performance across the team.
- Lead the definition of new business targets and coach the wider sales team to achieve higher targets of package waste across their portfolios.
- Own senior-level relationships with priority clients and act as escalation point for complex issues.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver integrated solutions and maximise account value.
- Coordinate with the BDM and Bid Management team to provide support throughout the bidding process and ensure the smooth mobilisation of new opportunities.
Sales Activities:
- Support the field sales teams in their customer interactions including customer visits as requested.
- Visit existing and potential customers in the UK in a lead role to try and obtain business for the UK facilities.
- Prepare presentations for key customers.
- Be responsible for the setting of selling prices for package waste in accordance with our operations colleagues, including hosting the Monthly Pricing Review.
- Regular liaison is required with the UK supply chain to improve our outlets network.
- All of the above needs to be interpreted alongside the UK commercial sign-off limits laid down by the UK CEO.
Person Specification:
- Full knowledge of Package Waste and the interactions of the routes into disposal sites.
- Full knowledge of the Package waste and the Waste Transfer Stations market.
- Computer literate, especially MS Office, with strong Excel skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Organised and methodical.
- Self-starter and highly motivated.
- Creativity and ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
