As a Senior Fire Engineer specialising in Building Safety Case reports, you will be responsible for leading the preparation, review, and ongoing management of Building Safety Case Reports for Higher-Risk Buildings (HRBs). The role provides technical leadership in fire and structural safety, supporting Accountable Persons and Principal Accountable Persons in demonstrating compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022 and associated secondary legislation. The post holder will act as a subject matter expert, coordinating multidisciplinary inputs, developing safety arguments, and ensuring that building safety risks are identified, assessed, mitigated, and clearly documented to meet the expectations of the Building Safety Regulator (BSR).
As part of the role and being a senior member of the team, you will be expected to provide technical leadership in the delivery of fire engineering and fire safety services across a range of building types and project stages. The role involves managing complex fire safety projects, providing expert technical advice, and supporting compliance with fire safety legislation, building regulations, and industry best practice. The post holder will act as a senior technical engineer, working closely with clients, designers, contractors, and regulators, while also mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the development of fire engineering capability within the organisation.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Work alongside the Managing Director, Technical & Commercial Director, Head of People and Business Operations and others to drive the business forwards and actively contribute to its development and growth.
- Undertake statutory work to within the regulatory framework of building control including fire and rescue.
- Take responsibility for your own diary and managing your workload to allow you to deliver work to the highest possible standard on all projects.
- Responsible for the day to day project management of your project from conception to completion.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Holds over 5 years industry experience in fire engineering preferably within a consultancy environment.
- A Bachelors degree or higher within Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar.
- Ideally be or working towards becoming a Chartered Engineer.
- Experience preparing fee proposals and task variations for fire engineering activities.
- Experience in delivering fire engineering solutions.
- RICS, CABE, IFE, RIBA qualifications desired.
