We are seeking a Junior Buyer/Product Developer to join a premium menswear brand based in London. This role offers a dynamic environment where you will play a crucial part in shaping our product offering and driving business success.
Responsibilities
- Market Research: Stay on top of the latest fashion trends, competitor offerings, and market demands to inform product decisions.
- Vendor & Supplier Management: Assist in selecting and evaluating vendors, obtaining quotes, and managing supplier communications to ensure a competitive product offering.
- Purchase Order Processing: Manage offline orders, verify costs and quantities, and ensure timely deliveries in line with our buying schedule.
- Pricing & Negotiation: Analyse pricing strategies and negotiate competitive rates while maintaining product quality standards.
- Sales Analysis: Review sales data to identify key trends, vendor performance, and market insights to guide buying decisions.
- Collaborative Communication: Work cross-functionally with e-commerce, customer service, and other departments to share information and resolve queries.
- Material Sourcing: Source and identify materials for product development, ensuring timely delivery, suitable pricing, and quality standards.
- Tech Packs & Prototyping: Develop detailed technical specifications for product designs and oversee sample and prototype development.
- Sample Development & Fit Sessions: Support sample development and assist with fit sessions to ensure products meet design and fit standards.
- Quality Control: Oversee product quality, ensuring that final products align with company standards.
- Problem Solving: Tackle challenges related to materials, production delays, or quality issues and collaborate on solutions to keep projects on track.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience: 2+ years in a similar role buying/product development role, with a strong focus on menswear/tailoring.
- Product Development Expertise: Comfortable working in menswear product development, from design to sourcing.
- Skills: Advanced Excel skills are essential; NetSuite experience is a plus (though not required).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to multi-task and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Organizational Skills: Highly organized with great attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
