Our client is a Ladies Fast Fashion supplier based in London, delivering innovative solutions across all womenswear product categories. With extensive industry experience, they have developed a dynamic and agile approach to the fast fashion market. Due to ongoing expansion, they are now seeking an experienced Senior Garment Technician to join the team.
Role Overview
As a Senior Garment Technician, you will take ownership of technical documentation and fit management across multiple ladieswear categories. You will play a critical role in ensuring garments are production-ready, technically accurate, and aligned with design intent while maintaining the highest quality and fit standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Specifications & Documentation: Produce detailed tech packs and spec sheets, including size charts, production notes, seam allowances, and garment construction details. Prepare Excel-based workbooks and spec documentation to guide production accurately. Must be able to interpret and convert tech packs into workable garment designs, ensuring alignment with design intent and production feasibility. Produce and manage Excel-based workbooks to ensure accurate and consistent production guidance. Interpret design briefs and translate them into technically viable garments, ensuring alignment with design intent and manufacturing capabilities.
- Fit & Product Development: Lead and participate in fit sessions, confidently assessing prototypes and implementing technical amendments. Provide clear, precise and commercially aware fit comments to factories and suppliers. Incorporate client and customer feedback into final fits for approval.
- Quality Assurance: Identify and resolve potential technical or production issues proactively to prevent delays. Maintain high quality control standards across all womenswear categories. Ensure consistency of fit and grading across size ranges.
Person Specification
- Proven experience as a Senior Garment Technician within ladieswear multi-category.
- Minimum 5 years' experience.
- Strong technical knowledge across womenswear categories including Jersey, Soft Separates, Wovens, Cut & Sew, and Knitwear.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (grading charts, specifications, and production data).
- Demonstrate skills in the ability to create technical drawings.
- Experience using Adobe Illustrator is advantageous.
- Excellent understanding of garment construction, fit, and grading principles.
- Ability to manage workload independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership capability with the confidence to guide junior team members.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and prioritisation skills.
