We are working with a well-known Sportswear Brand who design, develop and manufacture Football Kits and Sports Fashion Apparel & Accessories. Due to continued growth we are looking for a Product Developer to join their Team.
The Role
- The role requires a proactive Product Developer with more than 3 years' experience in a similar role.
- Work closely with Supply Chain/ Design and Sales Team - reporting into the Senior Product Developer.
- Responsible for developing and keeping track of all development across a multi range of product, which can look to include; SMU ranges across Pro, White Label and Retro.
- Chase for Proto/ PP/ Shipment samples / lab dips / trims, strike off's and garment/ trim testing.
- Review and analyse fabric hangers/ colours and feedback comments / approvals accordingly.
- Willing to work on Men's, Ladies and Childrenswear.
- Measure samples in preparation for fit sessions.
- Be able to hold fit sessions and document comments in a clear and concise manner.
- Share clear communication with suppliers and customers, worldwide - daily.
- Build and maintain supplier relationships to ensure quality standards are met at all times.
- Work inline with the critical path to ensure all timelines are met and managed - daily upkeep of our PSR is essential.
- Attend and report back in cross functional meetings with design, sales and product team every week.
- Submit development/ bulk samples with comments to our wide customer base ensuring to receive feedback / approval within 48H.
- Face production challenges with a practical hands-on approach.
- Continually check and maintain quality standards.
- Send parcels to customers daily.
- Assist in organising and maintaining sample library.
- Action testing/ review reports and determine next steps.
- Work with suppliers on the most cost effective techniques to support business on target margins.
Requirements
- A Product Developer/ Garment Technologist with 3 or more years' experience in a similar role.
- A fashion related degree.
- Technical Skills across Men's, Ladies and Childrenswear.
- Passionate about product.
- A problem solver - able to take initiative and act accordingly.
- A great communicator with an enthusiastic and engaging manner.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and work to a set critical path.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn new skills and demonstrate a can-do approach.
- Knowledge of garment construction, fabric, fit, patterns, grading, excel, Microsoft word and Outlook.
- Have basic understanding on fabric, print techniques, garment testing.
- Able to drive to our Head Office near St Albans.
- Office based role - 5 days a week.
