Looking for an individual to join a growing Kidswear team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative and detail‐oriented designer, to support the design and development of trend‐led, commercial Kidswear collections across multiple product categories. You will work closely with the Design Manager, Senior Designers, Account Managers, and Product Development teams to help deliver innovative and commercially successful designs for the company's retail partners. This role will be 5 days a week in the Watford office.
Key Responsibilities
- To conduct research and support the development of sensational Kidswear collections including trend, fabric, colour and silhouette direction.
- Assist the Senior Designer in creating technical drawings, CADs, and presentation boards.
- Support in product development and fittings and trim sourcing and selection.
- Assist in sample development and fittings, ensuring that design intent and critical path timelines are met.
- Prepare mood boards, design packs, and presentations for internal meetings and customer pitches.
- Identify emerging trends and help translate them into commercially viable Kidswear designs tailored to our customers and retail partners.
- Provide day‐to‐day administrative support to the design team.
- Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to track sample progress and manage production timelines.
- Help manage and update tech packs and sample tracking.
- Maintain and organise fabric, trim, and sample libraries.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow and communication.
- Assist in compiling and updating client presentations and design portfolios.
Key Skills
- Previous experience in fashion design role is essential, ideally within Kidswear or a similar product category.
- A qualification in Fashion or Textile Design is desirable but not required.
- Passionate about Kidswear trends, design innovation, and creating product that resonates with children and parents alike.
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with strong technical drawing and CAD skills.
- Highly organised, with good attention to detail and time management skills.
- A proactive, creative thinker who thrives in a fast‐paced, collaborative environment.
