Our client is looking for an experienced Garment Technologist to play a key role in the development, production, and quality control of our collections. You will work closely with customers and internal teams across design, production, and quality to ensure garments meet required fit standards and customer expectations. A strong focus of this role is pattern amendment (manual and or digital) and technical ownership from concept through to bulk production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Garment Development
    • Collaborate with design teams at concept stage
    • Provide technical input on sketches, patterns, and prototypes to ensure feasibility and manufacturability
  • Garment Construction & Pattern Work
    • Demonstrate excellent knowledge of garment construction
    • Carry out pattern amendments (manual and or digital) to ensure correct garment fit
    • Produce accurate measurement charts and graded spec sheets for production
  • Fit Sessions
    • Conduct internal fit sessions using models or mannequins
    • Evaluate fit, comfort, and appearance, implementing necessary changes
    • Attend customer fit sessions and ensure all feedback is actioned through to bulk
  • Production & Manufacturing
    • Partner with production teams and factories to optimise manufacturing processes
    • Ensure consistency, efficiency, and quality throughout production
  • Compliance & Standards
    • Ensure all garments meet regulatory, ethical, and company standards
  • Problem Solving
    • Identify and resolve technical or production issues proactively
    • Provide solutions to improve quality and efficiency
  • Communication
    • Maintain strong communication across internal teams, suppliers, and factories
  • Factory Visits
    • Travel to factories if and when required to oversee fittings, production quality, and technical execution

Requirements

  • 3-5 years' experience as a Garment Technologist, ideally within womenswear
  • Strong technical knowledge of garment construction, fit, grading, and manufacturing
  • Essential: hands-on experience with pattern cutting and pattern amendments (manual & or digital)
  • Experience using Optitex (preferred) or similar CAD systems; training will be given
