We're working with a leading fashion business to recruit an experienced Girlswear Designer to join their creative team in London. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded and highly creative designer to take ownership of trend-led girlswear collections, from initial concept through to final production.

The Role

You will be responsible for designing innovative and commercially relevant girlswear ranges that reflect current trends while staying true to brand identity. Working closely with Product Development and sourcing teams, you'll help shape the creative direction of seasonal collections and ensure designs are both inspiring and production-ready.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop original girlswear garment designs and patterns aligned with brand direction and seasonal trends
  • Create detailed sketches, design packs, and prototypes for review and development
  • Research and select fabrics, fibres, and materials suitable for new collections
  • Collaborate with suppliers to source and develop high-quality materials
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies to inform design direction
  • Contribute ideas and feedback throughout the product development process
  • Prepare design presentations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate records of design concepts and development stages
  • Conduct fabric research and analyse material properties to support customer collections

About You

  • 5+ years' experience in girlswear, womenswear, or textile/fashion design
  • Degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related discipline
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Excellent understanding of fabrics, garment construction, and manufacturing processes
  • Experience in print design is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of textile printing and dyeing techniques
  • Strong creative ability with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with strong collaboration skills
  • Able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
