We are working with a supplier who is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Garment Technologist to strengthen customer-facing technical capability within their UK function. This newly created UK-based role is focused on customer engagement, technical alignment, and establishing ways of working between UK stakeholders and the offshore-based technical team. The role ensures that customer expectations, fit requirements, quality standards and design intent are clearly communicated to the Sri Lanka technical team. The role brings a proactive and trend-led technical perspective, supporting the exploration of new shapes, emerging fits and evolving silhouettes. The role acts as a trusted technical partner to UK and European retail customers, supporting fit sessions, development discussions and technical presentations, while strengthening long‑term customer relationships and supporting commercial growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted technical partner to UK and European retail customers.
- Represent the company in fit sessions and product development reviews.
- Translate customer expectations into clear, technical feedback for the offshore team.
- Build strong partnerships with customer technical teams to support long‑term growth.
- Provide technical input on emerging fits, new silhouettes and construction trends.
Fit, Sample & Product Development Support
- Ownership of fit sessions with UK customers and internal teams.
- Provide structured, clear feedback for implementation by offshore technical teams.
- Support evaluation of garment fit, construction and measurement consistency.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Garment Technologist within retailer or supplier environments.
- Strong experience working with UK or European retail customers.
- Experience in babywear and childrenswear product development is essential (other categories also welcome).
- Full working knowledge of UK and EU testing, safety standards and apparel compliance legislation (particularly relevant to babywear/childrenswear).
- Experience working with offshore technical or product development teams.
