About The Company
A successful, trend‑led global fashion manufacturer supplying many of the UK’s leading high street retailers. The business works across established customer accounts, developing commercial menswear collections and collaborating closely with an international supplier base.
The Role
Working closely with the Senior Garment Technologist and wider product teams, you will be responsible for managing the fit, construction, quality and technical development of menswear ranges for established high street customer accounts.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Menswear Garment Technologist to join a successful global manufacturer, working closely with major retail customers and Far East factories to take products from initial development through to bulk production.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the technical development of menswear products from initial sample through to production
- Work across established customer accounts, understanding each retailer’s fit standards, quality expectations and technical requirements
- Lead fit sessions and provide clear, accurate fit and construction comments
- Create and maintain detailed technical packs, measurement specifications and grading rules
- Review samples, fabrics, trims and construction methods throughout the development process
- Work closely with Far East factories and suppliers to resolve technical, fit and quality issues
- Liaise with Design, Buying, Merchandising and Production teams to ensure products are commercially viable
- Attend customer meetings and communicate confidently with technical and product teams
- Approve development samples, pre‑production samples and sealing samples
- Review test reports and ensure products meet required quality, safety and compliance standards
- Investigate production issues, quality concerns and customer returns, implementing corrective actions where required
- Ensure technical approvals are completed in line with target prices and critical‑path deadlines
- Maintain accurate technical records and product documentation
- Manage multiple product developments and deadlines throughout the season
- Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, factories and internal teams
- Travel to Far East factories and suppliers when required
About You
- Minimum 4-5 years' experience in menswear garment technology, ideally within a fashion supplier or manufacturer environment
- Strong experience working across menswear products, including tailoring
- Previous supplier‑side experience is highly desirable
- Experience working directly with Far East factories and suppliers
- Strong understanding of menswear fit, pattern cutting, grading, garment construction and manufacturing processes
- Experience creating accurate measurement specifications and detailed technical packs
- Confident leading fit sessions and providing clear, practical technical comments
- Experience working with high street retailers and established customer accounts
- Knowledge of fabric testing, garment performance, safety and compliance requirements
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to resolve fit, quality and production issues
