Our District Support Pharmacists (DSPs) play a critical role in cultivating a culture of excellence within each pharmacy by acting as role models, demonstrating genuine care, and setting high standards for the pharmacy team. As a DSP, you will support our pharmacy teams by covering pharmacist scheduling gaps, under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager (PM) and Rx District Leader (DL). You will work across stores in the district, supporting the management, oversight, and operation of the pharmacy.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Living our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizations.
- Traveling the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator (DPC).
- Overseeing pharmacy operations and serving as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during shifts.
- Supporting safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following workflow procedures and safety protocols.
- Assuming Pharmacy Manager’s duties when serving as the primary pharmacist-on-duty.
- Contributing to positive patient experiences through empathetic care and coaching the pharmacy team.
- Supporting immunization efforts and engaging with patients to promote health.
- Managing pharmacy inventory effectively, with a focus on cold chain products.
- Remaining flexible to meet scheduling and business needs while fostering an inclusive team environment.
- Maintaining and expanding clinical and technical skills through ongoing training and education.
- Supporting clinical services such as testing and prescribing where permissible.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and CVS policies to maintain patient safety and privacy.
