Our client is a leading international Civil Engineering company strengthening their team on high-profile data centre projects throughout Europe, with this particular project based in the Netherlands. The Senior Engineer role is a hands-on site-based position, responsible for overseeing the engineering delivery of below-ground construction and underground utility works, including concrete pours and drainage. You will oversee Setting Out Engineers, manage technical information and act as a key interface between the site team, Principal Contractor and client.
Rate to £400 per day or Euro equivalent | Fully Expensed Accommodation | Flight Allowance | 25 Days Holiday + Public Holidays. Must be flexible to work on a rota basis | 10-hour working day (Monday to Friday) + Overtime if Required.
Key Essentials:
- Oversee engineering delivery of below-ground concrete pours, structures and associated civils works
- Manage and coordinate underground utilities, drainage, ducting, chambers and associated infrastructure
- Oversee and provide technical direction to Setting Out Engineers
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and project requirements
- Act as a key technical interface between the Principal Contractor, site teams and client
- Filter and communicate technical information to the client and wider project team
- Produce and manage look-ahead programmes and engineering requirements
- Raise, manage and close out RFIs and technical queries
- Review drawings and construction information, identifying potential issues before they impact delivery
- Coordinate with Construction, Planning, Commercial, QA/QC and Health & Safety teams
- Ensure site teams are working to the latest approved drawings and construction information
- Maintain accurate engineering records and ensure works are delivered to the required quality standards
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Senior Engineer within civil engineering or major infrastructure projects
- Strong experience with below-ground concrete works and concrete pours
- Good understanding of underground utilities and drainage installations
- Experience overseeing a team of Setting Out Engineers
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications and setting-out requirements
- Experience managing RFIs, technical queries and look-ahead planning
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with clients and senior project teams
- Hands-on approach with the ability to work effectively within a busy, high-pressure site environment
