Are you passionate about technical packaging innovation and bringing great products to life? We're looking for a Packaging Technologist to join our NPD team, driving the technical development of packaging across a portfolio of premium spirits brands. You'll work collaboratively with Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain and external supplier partners to deliver innovative, sustainable and commercially successful packaging solutions. Key Responsibilities

  • Effective delivery of new product development projects managing our key brands through packaging development activities.
  • Provide technical packaging expertise to Marketing, Operations and Supply Chain teams.
  • Provide commercial guidance on packaging development in accordance with our stage gate process.
  • Be first point of contact for on-line technical packaging support to the production, quality & engineering teams, to ensure that quality and operational issues are dealt with quickly and effectively.
  • Lead improvement projects to increase efficiency of existing packaging.
  • Support the technical packaging specification management system and manage artwork approval workflows.
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Achieve set KPIs.
  • Continuously seek improvement.
  • Lead and participate in root cause problem solving activities.

Attributes and Skills

  • Minimum Qualifications: Degree-level Qualification (or working towards a relevant degree).
  • Relevant Working Experience: Proven track record of successful development and implementation of packaging initiatives, preferably but not limited to, the Spirits or FMCG sector.
  • Skills: Experience working with SAP (or a similar ERP system) and Adobe is preferable, experience with Monday.com or a similar project management system would be a bonus.
  • Technical experience working across multiple materials and packaging components (glass, closures, paper, corrugate etc.).
  • Understanding of sustainable packaging formats and reporting would be beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Methodical and highly organised with good prioritisation skills.
  • Experience working in and managing cross functional project teams.
