About the role
CVB Healthcare Ltd and CVB Homecare Ltd are seeking an experienced, CIPD-qualified HR Compliance Officer to support our healthcare staffing and homecare operations.
The successful candidate will combine practical HR experience with strong compliance knowledge.
You will ensure that recruitment, employee relations, workforce records, training and employment processes remain lawful, consistent and audit-ready.
Key responsibilities
- Provide professional HR advice to directors, registered managers and operational teams.
- Maintain and review HR policies, procedures, templates and employment documentation.
- Oversee safer recruitment and onboarding, ensuring staff are not deployed before all required checks are completed.
- Verify DBS checks, references, employment history, qualifications, professional registrations and right-to-work evidence.
- Maintain accurate personnel files, compliance trackers and expiry alerts.
- Prepare offer letters, contracts, contractual changes and employee correspondence.
- Support probation, attendance, capability, performance, disciplinary and grievance processes.
- Maintain the mandatory training matrix and monitor supervision, appraisal and competency records.
- Conduct personnel-file and workforce-compliance audits.
- Prepare evidence for CQC inspections, commissioner reviews, client audits and framework audits.
- Support compliance with CQC Regulation 19 and fit-and-proper-person requirements.
- Maintain right-to-work and visa records and support sponsor-licence compliance where assigned.
- Escalate safeguarding, data-protection, immigration, employment-law and regulatory risks appropriately.
- Produce accurate HR and compliance reports and ensure corrective actions are completed.
Essential requirements
Applicants must have
- A completed CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management or a higher CIPD qualification.
- Current CIPD membership at Associate level (Assoc CIPD) or above.
- Substantial practical UK HR experience.
- Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding and employee-relations processes.
- Working knowledge of safer recruitment, DBS checks, references, right-to-work checks and training compliance.
- Sound knowledge of current UK employment practice, confidentiality, equality and data protection.
- Excellent written communication, organisation and record-keeping skills.
- The confidence to challenge unsafe or non-compliant practice.
- High professional integrity and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
Desirable requirements
- CIPD Advanced Diploma in Strategic People Management at Level 7.
- Chartered CIPD membership.
- Experience in adult social care, domiciliary care or healthcare recruitment.
- Experience preparing for CQC, commissioner, framework or client audits.
- Knowledge of sponsor-licence and Skilled Worker compliance.
- Experience supporting a multi-site or temporary staffing workforce.
