We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering and machinery business based in Brighouse. Due to continued growth, our client is looking to appoint an experienced Spare Parts Manager to take ownership of their spare parts function and play a key role in supporting customers and engineers.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role suited to someone with an engineering background and strong organisational and commercial skills.
The Role
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with customers, delivering a high level of service
- Develop and manage relationships with a varied UK and European supplier base
- Manage spare parts enquiries, prepare quotations, follow up, and convert into orders
- Negotiate supplier pricing and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Maintain accurate records of components, suppliers, pricing, and lead times
- Manage spare parts stock levels, ensuring availability while controlling costs
- Support engineers with parts for service visits and breakdowns
- Ensure all stock movements, enquiries, and purchase orders are accurately logged and tracked
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a spare parts, engineering stores, or similar role
- An engineering background or strong understanding of engineering components
- Excellent communication skills and a professional telephone manner
- Organised, detail-focused, and confident managing multiple priorities
- Commercially aware with the ability to negotiate and control costs
- Comfortable working with databases / ERP systems
