The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a busy and growing fresh produce operation in Kent. This is a hands-on maintenance position suited to a mechanically biased engineer who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment and wants to play an important role in keeping site machinery and equipment running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across the site.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on production and packing equipment.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to machinery breakdowns.
  • Complete preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime.
  • Support the smooth running of production and packing operations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and performance.
  • Work safely and maintain high standards of housekeeping.
  • Record maintenance activities and report any ongoing issues to the wider engineering team.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Previous experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing, production, FMCG or similar environment.
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding and maintenance skills.
  • Experience working with production, processing or packing machinery.
  • A proactive approach to preventative maintenance and continuous improvement.
  • The ability to work independently and respond effectively to breakdowns.
  • Good communication skills and a strong commitment to health and safety.
