The Role

We are recruiting for an experienced Production Manager to join a well-established food manufacturing business in Swindon. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a high-performing production team, ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for driving productivity, improving processes, and ensuring all production targets are achieved while maintaining strict food safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead the night shift production operation.
  • Ensure daily production plans are achieved safely, on time, and in full.
  • Drive improvements in productivity, efficiency, waste reduction, and labour utilisation.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Team Leaders and Production Operatives.
  • Monitor KPIs including OEE, downtime, waste, and labour efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all Food Safety, HACCP, BRCGS, and Health & Safety standards.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience as a Production Manager or Production Supervisor/Team Leader within manufacturing.
  • Strong leadership experience managing production teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent understanding of food safety standards including HACCP and BRCGS.
  • Experience working within FMCG or food manufacturing.
  • Strong people management and coaching skills.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to make decisions under pressure and drive operational performance.
