An established manufacturing company based in Ripley is looking for a Project Engineer to join their team and lead end-to-end project delivery for a key product line. This is a pivotal role within a small but high-performing engineering team, offering the chance to own and deliver impactful capital investment projects from concept to completion. The successful candidate will play a central part in managing technical specifications, coordinating multi-disciplinary stakeholders, and ensuring project delivery meets both operational and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all five phases of project management - from feasibility and planning, through execution, monitoring, and final sign-off (FAT/SAT).
  • Deliver capital investment projects on time, on budget, and in line with business objectives.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external suppliers (including international OEMs) to specify, source, and implement new manufacturing equipment.
  • Own the installation and commissioning process, ensuring all services, utilities, and support infrastructure are prepared in advance.
  • Manage snagging, aftercare, and documentation to ensure full project closure and knowledge transfer.
  • Maintain regular communication with key stakeholders, providing weekly updates and formal monthly reporting.
  • Coordinate contractors, ensure compliance, and manage equipment servicing/critical parts planning via internal systems.

Candidate Profile

  • Background in mechanical or electrical engineering with hands-on experience; time-served (e.g. apprenticeship route) in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in project management within an industrial or engineering setting.
  • Strong technical understanding and the ability to manage and prioritise multiple project deliverables.
  • Comfortable preparing technical and investment documentation and communicating clearly across functions and with external partners.
  • Experience with Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT).
  • Digitally fluent with MS Office, AutoCAD, CMMS, and project planning software.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and able to work independently to drive results.

Why Join?

  • Work in a highly impactful role within a supportive, skilled team.
  • Be a key player in driving long-term operational improvements and strategic investment.
  • Join a company that values innovation, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.
