A well-established UK manufacturing business is looking to appoint an experienced Production Manager to lead its manufacturing operation in Staffordshire. This is a key site-based leadership role with responsibility for day-to-day production performance, people leadership, safety, quality and continuous improvement. You will be joining an established operation with a strong technical focus and a clear commitment to developing its people and processes.

The successful candidate will be a visible, hands-on leader who can balance operational delivery with longer-term improvement, while building an engaged and accountable production team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations to meet customer requirements
  • Manage, coach and develop production supervisors and shopfloor teams
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety and operational compliance
  • Drive continuous improvement, including lean principles, OEE and waste reduction
  • Monitor and improve key production measures including output, quality, downtime and efficiency
  • Manage production budgets and identify opportunities to improve cost performance
  • Work closely with colleagues across quality, planning, maintenance, commercial and supply chain functions
  • Support recruitment, training, development and succession planning within the production team

About You

  • Proven experience in a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager or similar leadership position
  • Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams
  • Practical understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
  • Good knowledge of health and safety requirements within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Confident communicator, comfortable working with both shopfloor teams and senior stakeholders
  • A hands-on, pragmatic approach with the credibility to lead from the front

The Package

  • £55,000-£60,000 salary
  • 10% contributory pension scheme
  • 33 days' holiday including bank holidays
  • Gym membership
  • Permanent, full-time position

Location & Working Pattern

Staffordshire-based manufacturing site. This is a hands-on, site-based leadership role supporting a 24/7 operation.
