We are looking for a motivated Tool Room Engineer to join a market leading manufacturer within their field. You will be a key member in ensuring the production facility is kept running. You will be involved in all aspects of setting within their operation. Role Description:

  • Repair, service, and refurbish injection moulding tools to maintain optimal performance and reliability.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in accordance with the agreed schedule.
  • Respond promptly to tooling breakdowns, diagnose faults, and implement effective corrective actions to minimise production downtime.
  • Evaluate tooling issues to determine whether repairs can be completed in-press or require transfer to the Tool Room.
  • Confidently work on tools within the press environment.
  • Accurately estimate job durations and communicate potential delays or risks to relevant stakeholders.
  • Promptly escalate any safety concerns or risks of tool damage through the appropriate channels.
  • Report root causes of tooling failures and ongoing concerns to engineering management.
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in compliance with relevant quality and safety regulations.
  • Support production targets by maintaining consistent tooling quality and reliability.
  • Identify, record, and manage spare parts usage and requirements.
  • Take ownership of assigned tool suites, ensuring reliable performance with minimal supervision.
  • Operate forklift trucks and lifting equipment safely and in accordance with regulations.
  • Support new tooling projects from commissioning through to full production launch.
  • Maintain accurate tooling history, records, and documentation within the Tool Room database.
  • Carry out engineering-level modifications and improvements to tooling as required.
  • Use, maintain, and report issues with personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately.
