We are looking for an experienced and driven Production Manager with Injection Moulding experience to join a global manufacturing company based in the UK. This is a key supervisory role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ensuring injection moulding operations run safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The position will suit a hands-on supervisor looking to progress their career within a secure and stable organisation.
Role Description
- Supervise injection moulding production output on shift, ensuring daily targets, efficiencies, and KPIs are achieved.
- Oversee multiple injection moulding machines and associated processes, including set-up, changeovers, and first-off approvals.
- Manage and motivate production operatives, setters, and technicians to ensure optimal performance and engagement.
- Monitor material usage, stock levels, and scrap rates within the injection moulding department.
- Ensure strict adherence to Health & Safety regulations, SOPs, and PPE requirements at all times.
- Maintain high-quality standards through regular checks, quality audits, and effective non-conformance / rework management.
- Plan daily production schedules, allocate labour effectively, and escalate any machine, tooling, or material issues as required.
- Capture and report key production data including labour, machine downtime, efficiencies, and output to the Production Manager.
- Support absence management, return-to-work meetings, and day-to-day people issues on shift.
- Attend daily production and shift handover meetings, highlighting priorities, issues, and urgent orders.
- Support training and development through maintaining the skills matrix and coordinating cross-training to improve flexibility.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within injection moulding, focusing on waste reduction, efficiency, and process stability.
Skills and Qualifications
- Proven supervisory experience within an injection moulding manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of injection moulding processes, materials, tooling, and quality standards.
- Confident people manager with the ability to motivate, develop, and communicate effectively with teams.
- Good working knowledge of Health & Safety and quality systems within manufacturing.
- Computer literate, with experience using Microsoft Office and production reporting systems.
- First Aid trained or willing to undertake First Aid training.
