Shift Maintenance Technician
Telford | 4 on 4 off (Days & Nights) | Permanent
We are currently recruiting for a Shift Maintenance Technician to join a busy manufacturing operation in Telford, working a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern covering both days and nights.
The Role
Working as part of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance across a range of manufacturing equipment, including:
- Conveyors
- Injection Moulding
- Extruders
- Mixers
- Coolers
- Laminators
- Cutting Lines
Key responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance to minimise production downtime.
- Diagnosing faults and completing effective repairs across site and plant equipment.
- Carrying out Root Cause Analysis, including 5 Why, to identify and eliminate recurring issues.
- Implementing sustainable corrective actions and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Accurately recording maintenance activities through the CMMS system.
- Maintaining and updating relevant technical documentation and procedures.
- Proactively highlighting engineering and process concerns.
- Supporting continuous improvement across the site.
- Working closely with the wider maintenance team and transferring knowledge and skills to apprentices and colleagues.
- Completing agreed training and development to further enhance your technical skillset.
About You
The successful candidate will have a strong electrical maintenance background, ideally gained within a manufacturing or production environment.
Essential requirements include:
- Time-served apprenticeship to Level 3 standard, or equivalent, in Electrical Maintenance/Engineering.
- Current Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
- Strong electrical maintenance and fault-finding skills.
- Good mechanical aptitude.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good level of numeracy and literacy.
- Comfortable using PCs, mobile devices and maintenance systems.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.
