We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Toolmaker to join a well-established engineering business based in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and motivated individual looking for a permanent day-shift role within a precision manufacturing environment.

The Role

The successful candidate will be involved in the manufacture, maintenance, repair, and modification of precision tooling, working to high engineering standards across a varied workload.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manufacture and maintain precision tooling components
  • Carry out precision grinding and machining operations
  • Operate EDM spark erosion and wire erosion machinery
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Work to tight tolerances and high-quality standards
  • Support tooling improvements and breakdown repairs where required

Requirements

  • Engineering qualification essential - ideally Toolmaking or Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong background in precision engineering and machining
  • Experience with:
    • Conventional machining
    • Precision grinding
    • EDM spark erosion
    • Wire erosion
  • Previous experience within either:
    • Press tooling, or
    • Plastic injection mould tooling
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High attention to detail and quality
