We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Toolmaker to join a well-established engineering business based in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and motivated individual looking for a permanent day-shift role within a precision manufacturing environment.
The Role
The successful candidate will be involved in the manufacture, maintenance, repair, and modification of precision tooling, working to high engineering standards across a varied workload.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture and maintain precision tooling components
- Carry out precision grinding and machining operations
- Operate EDM spark erosion and wire erosion machinery
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Work to tight tolerances and high-quality standards
- Support tooling improvements and breakdown repairs where required
Requirements
- Engineering qualification essential - ideally Toolmaking or Mechanical Engineering
- Strong background in precision engineering and machining
- Experience with:
- Conventional machining
- Precision grinding
- EDM spark erosion
- Wire erosion
- Previous experience within either:
- Press tooling, or
- Plastic injection mould tooling
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High attention to detail and quality
