The Company

Our client is a well-established and highly respected manufacturing business, investing heavily in its people, processes and technology. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Process Engineer to support manufacturing performance, drive continuous improvement and optimise production processes across the site.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving technical problems, improving manufacturing performance and working closely with production teams in a fast-paced environment.

The Role

As a Process Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving manufacturing processes, ensuring they operate efficiently, consistently and safely. Working alongside production, engineering and quality teams, you will identify opportunities for improvement, implement solutions and support both day-to-day manufacturing and longer-term capital projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical process support to manufacturing teams to resolve production and process-related issues.
  • Monitor, analyse and optimise manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality and productivity.
  • Maintain and update process documentation, technical specifications and control procedures.
  • Analyse production data and performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead and support root cause analysis (RCA) investigations and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Deliver process training and technical support to production personnel.
  • Plan, coordinate and evaluate production trials and process improvements.
  • Produce technical reports and communicate findings to key stakeholders.
  • Liaise with external suppliers and contractors regarding equipment, process improvements and repairs.
  • Support capital investment projects from specification through to commissioning.
  • Ensure new and existing processes are capable, controlled and continuously improved.

About You

The successful candidate will have experience within a manufacturing or continuous process environment and enjoy working in a hands-on technical role focused on process improvement.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing, process engineering or continuous production environment.
  • Engineering, Process or Chemistry qualification to HNC level (or equivalent), supported by a relevant apprenticeship or at least three years' industry experience.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementing corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), process monitoring and data analysis.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
