We are looking for a motivated Production Manager to join a market leading company in the UK. You will be a key member in ensuring the production facility is kept running. The position will appeal to a strong manager looking for their next challenging role within a secure and stable company.

Role Description

  • Monitor production lines to ensure efficiency, safety, and quality.
  • Optimize resource usage (materials, labour, equipment) to minimize waste and reduce costs.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety standards, and legal regulations.
  • Coordinate with other departments (e.g., R&D, Quality Control, Marketing) to ensure smooth production flow.
  • Oversee the quality control procedures, ensuring products meet all cosmetic industry standards and regulations.
  • Perform routine inspections and audits of the production process to ensure consistency in product quality.
  • Lead and supervise production teams, ensuring optimal performance and productivity.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on safe operating procedures and production best practices.
  • Manage production costs and work within budgetary constraints.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining product quality and production efficiency.
  • Ensure all machinery and production equipment are properly maintained and functioning optimally.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team for repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Implement lean manufacturing practices and encourage innovation to improve production processes.
  • Lead efforts to increase productivity, reduce downtime, and minimize defects.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Production Management, Industrial Engineering or Chemistry is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production management role within the manufacturing industry.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma is preferred.
