The Opportunity

Are you an engineer looking to move beyond CAD and design work into a customer-facing technical role? We're seeking an ambitious Sales Engineer to work with manufacturers across the UK and Europe, helping solve complex production challenges through innovative engineering solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical expertise with relationship building and wants to play a key role in delivering bespoke engineering projects.

Working closely with customers and internal engineering teams, you'll develop tailored equipment solutions, manage opportunities through the sales cycle, and become a trusted technical advisor to clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Understand customer manufacturing processes and technical requirements.
  • Develop bespoke engineering proposals and quotations.
  • Manage opportunities throughout the full sales cycle.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure proposed solutions are technically feasible.
  • Support product demonstrations, equipment trials and Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs).
  • Attend customer meetings, trade exhibitions and occasional UK and European travel.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer feedback.

About You

We're looking for someone with:

  • A degree, apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline.
  • Experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach.
  • A willingness to travel within the UK and Europe.
  • Experience within manufacturing, industrial automation, process systems or special-purpose machinery would be highly advantageous but is not essential.
