Mechanical Fitter Location: Nuneaton, Warwickshire Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Fitter / Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established process manufacturing business based in Nuneaton. This is a fantastic opportunity for a mechanically biased engineer who enjoys working in a hands-on, heavy industrial environment and wants a days-only shift pattern with no nights. You will be responsible for the day-to-day mechanical maintenance of a busy production facility, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance to ensure machinery remains reliable and downtime is kept to a minimum. The role would suit someone from a heavy engineering, recycling, waste, aggregates, quarrying, food processing, chemical, manufacturing or similar industrial background who is comfortable working on a wide variety of mechanical plant and machinery. Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across plant and machinery Respond to breakdowns and carry out reactive mechanical maintenance Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise production downtime Maintain and repair conveyors, gearboxes, motors and associated equipment Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems Install, maintain and modify new and existing plant equipment Carry out mechanical engineering routines in line with the site's maintenance programme Complete risk assessments before undertaking maintenance activities Complete maintenance logs, job sheets and relevant documentation Support other engineering and operational departments when required Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with site procedures Maintain high standards of housekeeping following maintenance work What We're Looking For Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Mechanical Maintenance Engineer or Mechanically Biased Engineer Strong hands-on mechanical engineering experience Experience with gearboxes, motors, conveyors, hydraulics and pneumatics Confident carrying out both PPM and reactive maintenance Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills Experience maintaining industrial plant and production machinery Comfortable working within a heavy or demanding manufacturing environment Ability to work independently and as part of an engineering team Strong understanding of health and safety within an industrial environment Someone who can come into the position and quickly become an effective member of the engineering team Shift Pattern Days-only continental shift, working 7:00am to 7:00pm Week 1: Monday to Thursday Week 2: Tuesday to Friday Week 3: Wednesday to Saturday Week 4: Thursday to Sunday Week 5: Friday to Sunday Week 6: Saturday to Monday Week 7: Sunday to Tuesday Week 8: Monday to Wednesday If you are a mechanically biased engineer looking for a well-paid, days-only maintenance position within a busy industrial environment, please apply with an up-to-date CV for further information
