Maintenance Electrical Engineer Nantwich, Cheshire | Full-Time | Permanent | Shift-Based Salary: £45,219 basic + standby & shift allowance - £51,693 guaranteed earnings when fully trained, plus overtime and call-out payments A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Electrical Engineer to join the growing maintenance team at HJ Lea Oakes Ltd, a leading supplier of quality animal and livestock feeds across Cheshire, Lancashire, Staffordshire, Shropshire and North Wales. Based predominantly at our Aston Mill site near Nantwich, you will play a key role in keeping our industrial plant, machinery and electrical systems operating safely and efficiently. You will also be required to travel to other HJ Lea sites across the North West. The Role Working as part of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for electrical maintenance, fault finding and supporting the ongoing reliability of our industrial equipment. Once fully trained, you will work an alternating shift pattern: 6am-2pm 2pm-10pm 8am-4pmThe role is Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, with overtime available. You will also participate in an out-of-hours and weekend call-out rota. A full UK driving licence is essential. About You We are looking for an experienced industrial electrical engineer with a strong hands-on background. You will need: A completed Electrical Engineering apprenticeship 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification Experience working in an industrial environment Experience with automation Experience of industrial electrical installation Experience working with industrial PLCs Good spoken and written English Good numeracy and literacy skills A valid driving licence Essential Hands-On Experience Please only apply if you can demonstrate experience in the following: Wiring motors over 11kW Hands-on electrical panel wiring Reading and understanding electrical control drawings Explaining how star-delta starting and inverters work Salary & Earning Potential The role offers an attractive earnings package once fully trained: £21.74 per hour × 40 hours × 52 weeks = £45,219.20 basic salary Plus: Standby allowance: £304.36 every third week - approximately £5,174 per year Shift allowance: £5 per shift - approximately £1,300 per year Guaranteed earnings: £51,693.32 per year And there is significant additional earning potential through overtime and call-outs: Overtime: Time and a half for hours worked over 40 hours, from 6am Monday to 2pm Saturday Weekend overtime: Double time from 2pm Saturday to 6am Monday Call-outs: Minimum payment of 4 hours at double time, regardless of the time spent on site What We Offer Full-time, permanent position, subject to a successful trial period 40-hour working week Alternating shift pattern Competitive salary and benefits Guaranteed earnings of £51,693.32 once fully trained Overtime opportunities Enhanced weekend overtime rates Generous call-out payments Opportunity to work within an established industrial maintenance team Interested?
