Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical maintenance and repair of distribution equipment
- Conveyors, pallet wrappers, tail lifts, loading bays
- General facilities and building maintenance
- Occasional forklift use (training provided if needed)
- Welding and fabrication tasks (advantageous but not essential)
- Progression into refrigeration and specialist equipment maintenance
What We\’re Looking For
- NVQ / City & Guilds in Engineering (Mechanical and/or Electrical)
- Solid experience with:
- Hydraulic systems – loading bays, tail lifts
- Pneumatic systems – pallet wrappers, conveyors
- Gearboxes, drives, motors & bearings – key plant components
- Chains, belts & rollers – maintenance of moving equipment
- General mechanical fitting & fault-finding
- Previous experience in a factory, warehouse, or distribution environment
- Confident working independently and solving problems on the spot
- Forklift licence or willingness to train
- Welding skills a plus but not essential
